Dudley Graham Hatch was born 28 MAY 1899. He died 24 JUN 1979 in Royal Middx Hospital, Westminster, London. He was the son of Thomas James Hatch (1862-1935) and Ann Elizabeth Gunner (1871-1953). He served in the Marines for 21 years from 1917 until 1938. Between 191
8 and 1923 he served on HMS Barham but towards the end of his service h
e was a waiter in the Officer's Mess at the Royal Marine Barracks, Chath
am.
He moved to London in 1936 and served at the Directorate of Naval Recrui
tment in London, being discharged to pension on 27.5.1938. He then worke
d as a messenger in the Admiralty until being recalled to the Marines o
n 21.10.1940. Until May 1941 he was a War Cabinet Orderly and then serve
d with the Marines until August 1945 after which he returned to his prev
ious job at the Admiralty and worked there until he retired on 24.7.1964
